The Buenos Aires Book Fair, one of the biggest in the world, has just ended, more visitors than ever before. The city hundreds of bookshops and some cafes even supply by Argentina’s most renowned literary icon, Jorge Luis Borges, to read over coffee. A wristband indicates that you will have a seat in the initial loading of Hall H, it does not however guarantee seat location.
Where is the music that challenges its listeners? Underground. The music on TV is always corporate pawns who sell out to make it big. The real edgy music can be found at small venues performed by musicians who learned their instruments as teenagers, formed high school bands, wrote songs, and struggled for years because the love music.

After a long wait and loads of laudatory press for fat, proud frontwoman and fashion icon Beth Ditto the Gossip have released the first video from their forthcoming Music for Men album, and it’s killer.Though not quite as rough around the edges as the slinky, pulsating dance floor anthems on Standing in the Way of Control, Heavy Cross is in keeping with the Gossip’s neat hybrid of punk rock guitars, commandingly soulful vocals and gleaming disco beats.
